Closing Down Blogger

I'll be switching over to my WordPress counterpart here, since it's much more easier to use, more organisation-friendly and has the 'read more' function which I can't seem to able to do with this current blogskin, which I found out is extremely different from standard ones.

Thanks for all your support, and please re-link me to my WordPress ASAP. Thanks!

Did you know?

Normally, I wouldn't be impressed with a large share of these kind of 'fact' videos, but this one is really amazing and cool.

Unicef attacks the Otaku world!

Old news, but UNICEF seems to have nothing better to do. Instead of looking at child soldiers in Western Asia, child trafficking in Africa and slavery in many parts, they are attacking Japan for 'the wrong portrayal of 2-dimensional characters which supposedly contributes significantly to to world's issue of child abuse and slavery'. I mean, what the hell?

Source of rage here.

Free Nendroids from Danny himself!

There is of course, always a catch. Only those who actually went for the Animax Blog Workshop can pick ONE (not one box... D:) nendroid (petit nendroids, I think). First come, first served.

Yet Another Series - Kodomo no Jikan

After finishing Busou Renkin, which IMO is one of the best Shounen series ever, easily surpassing the animes Narutards and Bleachtards love so much. Add in a main character that isn't annoying like Naruto, Dragonball Z elements of Super Saiyan (up to SSJ3) and SOME MANLY STUFF, and dice in some amazingly disgusting-at-first-but-get-used-to-it-being-uber-funny characters like Papillon, and you get a recipe for success.

Men stuff.

Next series I'll be completing will be Kodomo no Jikan. As some of you may or may not know, this show is like the god tier of Lolicon animes. Primary school (Grade school) girls ftw, leading to ban in America. I still think Kokonoe Rin is cute, not in a sexually arousing way of course. But that's what Americans think anyway. Anime -> Anything Sexually Related -> Kokonoe Rin + Anime -> Pedophile.

According to Americans, if you think Kokonoe Rin is cute, you're officially a pedophile.

And just another note. For old series that I'll put up on my blog for the first (and probably the last) time, I'll categorise it under "Yet Another Series".

Yet Another Series - Busou Renkin

Another Shounen series, by the creator of Rurouni Kenshin. Based on alchemy, fight between alchemy warriors and Homunculus and saving schoolgirls, a hilarious yet action-packed series (so far). Worth a watch, while you eat your meals in front of your comp or want to take a break from all the girls. (Tokiko [the short haired girl on the above picture] is still kind of hot IMO.)

Oh, and not to mention the fact that the male protagonist's sister is voiced by Hirano Aya <3

Omfg, it's Shishio-sama!

Yup, definitely a Rurouni Kenshin reference.

Deciding Among The Many Paths

In a few days' time, thousands of students like me will be receiving their GCE Ordinary levels results, and will be faced with a difficult task of deciding what will ultimately decide their future.

The most expected reaction to see on the day of results' release

Like any other normal person, I too will meet the same tough decision making. Just like how I need to choose a moe loli or a tsundere loli in an eroge, I'm split between two choices. Should I just follow what is already laid down, a steady, secure path, plain and bare, or make my own, be it crooked or bump, suffering along the way while enjoying the fruits of my labor when I've finally reached my destination. As Danny puts it, it's the fear.

It really is a tough choice.

My dad wants me to work in his company, with him expressing his wholesome desire that I get into a good university, let's say, in the UK?

But I know that's not what I want. I want to work with something related to Japan, even computing would be fine. The problem is, what? Computer engineer? Programmer? Should I go for Computer Science? Or Computer Engineering? Or should I just go for the Media field? Too many choices, yet every single one of them feel unsafe and full of pitholes.

Or maybe I just want to see more pantsu.

I'm still uncertain, but I know that there is no second chance at life, so sooner or later, I'll choose the latter choice, the former being the last resort, the backup, in case my Plan A fails. Until then, I'll just have to grit my teeth and endure anything and everything to succeed and be different.

Ending off with another Shana pic ^^;

Wordpress.com, continued.

From now on, I'll copy whatever post into my Wordpress blog, so for those people who prefer to read my blog without any special bling blings and words at the sidebar, go ahead to my Wordpress blog to please your eyes for your viewing pleasure.

Meanwhile, enjoy more Shana!

Wordpress.com

Trying out wordpress, imported my entire Blogger archive to wordpress. Seems like YouTube videos cannot be embed, and images are out of proportion, as the post width in Blogger is 800pixels while it's 450pixels at Wordpress. Taking a long time...

One good thing about Wordpress is that it seems very organised. But I can't freely change my blogskin's layout, there's this CSS upgrade thingy that I need to pay up for (I think ?, since it's 'premium' and all) which I need to have in order to customise my blogskin. Gah. Very restrictive.

Meanwhile, enjoy Shana!

P.S: Do you like Shana black-haired or empatsu?

Movie - 5 Centimeters Per Second

From the person who brought the short story manga "Voices of a Distant Star" (available at Comic Connections, Kinokuniya or Borders, published by Chuang Yi), director Makoto Shinkai brings yet another romance drama, this time in feature film. Released in 2007, I did not hear about this movie until much recently, which I will never regret watching. An hour long film consisting of 3 'chapters', or arcs of the protagonist, Takaki Touno's life, the film focuses on people's longing to be with another, and understanding what can and cannot be possible, while continuing to look ahead into the future.

I'm a sucker for this kind of shows, so I truly felt drawn into the simple yet beautiful graphics, which were very much detailed. For those who have not visited Japan before, this is one movie you can watch to catch a glimpse of Japan's countrysides and its metropolis, Tokyo. Covering train stations, convinience stores and sceneries with amazing accuracy, it's a modern piece of art. Storywise, it was similar to Makoto Shinkai's previous work, "Voices of a Distant Star", less on dialouges, more on the character's person feelings and thoughts, while making use of brilliant backdrop and music to amplify the feelings a character wants to portray. A slight disappointment would be the third chapter, which could have been slightly more explained and gone through, but the ending music and final wrap-up compensated for it.

For people who want to take a break from plot-intense animes or from modernisation, like how you would like to visit the countryside once in a while, this is a show I strongly and heavily recommend. A simple yet beautiful romance.

Twitter hit by Phishers

What!? I've been freaking phished!

Twitter has been a target of phishers. Phishers are people who fake a site in an attempt to trick users to believing that it is the real site, and giving out their user and password. Commonly, e-banking sites and such sites were targets, but it seems that it is not the case anymore. To prevent yourself from being a target, take a close look at your URL when you log in, especially if you have been redirected to the Twitter home page.

DJ Max Portable Metro Project - Black Square

It's finally out! The long-waited 'DJ Max for the Masters', DJ Max Portable - Black Square is out for retail sale in Korea. Singapore still needs need to wait til mid-Jan or the end of this month. Expect price to be around $70.

The producers seem to have added quite a lot of new features in the Black Square.

Firstly, they'll be bringing back 4B FX from the Clazziquai edition, removing 2B and bringing back 6B FX (Previously known as 8B in DJ Max Portable 2). Fever is now up til X7, with speed increasing only at x7, not at x4 and x5 as per DMP2. Missions are now akin to the Clazziquai mode, and the DMP2 style of missions are long gone. Interface is similar to Clazziquai, but the songs are definitely not. A little tiny extra they added can be seen in the video below. There are some special green notes, that I assume, if you press them, you get bonus scores. Not sure about it, just an assumption. Another feature is also added to the analog button, as shown around 0:52 in the video above. Some analog keys now have to pushed towards a certain direction, as in the above example, up. A great variety of songs are also included in the Black Square, and some songs I found to my liking were 'Heart of Witch' and 'Son of Sun', shown below.

Heart of Witch

Also read from some sites that by using Link Disc, connecting Black Square and Clazziquai, you can unlock 6B FX in Clazziquai. Would love to try that when Black Square is out. Is this on your 'Must-get games' this year?

P.S: I know I've promised to post about my Japan trip, but it appears that I need some photos, or I'll end up with a text-heavy post. Sorry about that (_ _;)
